Frostrail tools hub
Practical pages: can your PC wait, and can your crew leave the train.
Not every useful page is a story guide. This hub holds the two tools that prevent wasted evenings: System Requirements (Steam still says TBA — we refuse to fake a GPU list) and the Survival Checklist (jobs, heat, ammo, Relics, repair).
Use requirements before you beg for a closed beta invite you cannot launch. Use the checklist after Getting Started and before the doors open.
Why these are separate from guides
Guides teach. Tools are meant to stay on a second monitor. The checklist is written so a host can read it out loud in co-op without opening four articles. The requirements page is written so you can send it to a friend who found a 2016 graphics card table in a search result.
Hosts should keep both tools open on a second monitor during a closed-beta night: one tab for the checklist, one tab for the Steam news post that can kill a wave mid-session. That pairing is the whole reason this hub exists separately from the story-length guides.
If you want the why behind a checklist line, the linked guide still exists:
- Heat, clothes, repair → Survival
- Boiler, gauges, carriages → Train and Eden Engine
- Guns and factions → Weapons and Enemies
- Pads, binds, HUD → Controls
What we will not build
- A fake FPS calculator with invented presets.
- A “drop simulator” for Relics that have no public drop table.
- A keybind overlay pretending to be official.
When FakeFish publishes real specs or a real named loot table, those tools become worth writing. Until then, honesty is the feature.
Suggested pairing
New player: requirements (skim) → Getting Started → checklist.
Returning playtester: checklist → roadmap if you are deciding whether to wait for EA.
Host: checklist on stream, co-op in the Discord pin, Steam news from links if a wave just opened.
This wiki is unofficial. If Steam’s TBA line changes to a real table, the requirements page should change the same day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Are official Frostrail system requirements posted?
Steam still lists OS, CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage as TBA. Read system requirements for what that means in practice.
Is the survival checklist a cheat sheet for exploits?
No. It is a crew procedure: heat, jobs, ammo, Relics, repair. No third-party software.
Will you add a damage calculator?
Not until FakeFish publishes numbers worth calculating. Invented DPS would be worse than no tool.
Where do I go for gameplay help?
The Guides hub. This hub is for the two practical pages only.
